As a successful brand strategist and entrepreneur, Melinda has helped companies develop, define, and position themselves in the market through research, proven process methodologies, and implementation of integrated creative campaigns for over 25 years.
Her career has enabled her to experience vast geographic and cultural diversity, giving Melinda insightful perspective about targeted demographics, consumer behavior, and the value of an emotional response to brands.
With opportunities to live and work in California, North Carolina, Georgia, Hawaii, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, she’s developed a broad, cross-cultural perspective of demographics, consumer behavior, and responses. Melinda fully immerses herself in clients’ goals before planning marketing initiatives for their products and services. She uses data to inform marketing recommendations with creative range across media channels. This allows her to position the project analytically and tactically to inspire the consumer from an emotion to action.
As the founder and owner of two different firms, OrangeRoc in Hawaii and the first being located in Southern California, Melinda has created or managed brands with marketing programs for notable clients. These clients span over two decades ranging in scope from global, regional, and national, including Black + Decker – Kwikset and Pfister, The Fairmont Orchid, Locations, Bodhtree Solutions, Brookfield Residential, Tomy Toys, C4 Waterman, Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Geobunga, Multifamily Utility Company, and many more. Melinda is a current Rotarian and has served on many boards of directors.
Born in Singapore and raised on the Big Island, Lauren combines Eastern culture with Western education to bring multicultural insight to the office. Her thoughtful, forward-thinking approach to the visual arts complements the goals and objectives of our clients.
She is innately aware that creativity is not just about concepts and colors, but also recognizing that small details add up to be impactful elements. Lauren is proficient in website design for desktop and mobile environments, working with various content management systems, and integrating technology stacks. She understands the value of design and its impact on user experience and website functionality in digital environments.
Lauren received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. During this time she was the design editor and creative director for the university’s editorial publication. She has become a peer mentor to some new graduates and those seeking a career in graphic design
With a passion for all things artistic, Cristina combines her strong foundation in conceptual design and high-caliber visual talents when collaborating with clients.
Cristina bridges the gap between design and marketing, utilizing her design skills to successfully execute integrated marketing campaigns to align with clients’ budgets, business goals, and marketing objectives. She is astute and understands the complex nuisances of digital marketing and media. These strategies are deployed daily to find cause and correlation within key analytical findings. Once analyzed, she makes key decisions to adjust both owned, social, & paid media, search engine optimization, and content development.
Cristina recognizes that a vital part of OrangeRoc’s success lies not only in the development of our internal team, but also within the close collaboration between clients and vendors. This communication and commitment to foster strong relationships is something she strives to establish in every project our team takes on.
She has collaborated with local clients such as Alii Animal Hospital & Resort, Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union, Southern Turf Hawaii, and Hawaii Tobacco Quitline.
Shelley designs and executes impactful print and digital content for a wide range of multi-channel initiatives.
With a background in publication, and passion for UX/UI design, her strengths lie in understanding the user experience. This allows her to not only produce an effective user flow and capture our client’s message, but to also deliver it with clarity and emotion to the brand.
Born and raised in Torrance, California, Shelley grew up with a passion for art at a young age. Her creative upbringing led her to pursue a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. Here, she learned how to utilize a variety of tools to strategically solve problems both visually and conceptually. Outside of work, she enjoys creating and crafting hands-on projects in a variety of mediums. This expressive exercise further defines her personal style and expands her creative range in the professional field.
